Hi guys,

I got this email yesterday from Steve McBee regarding some textures he created and re-released without his consent, this is what he had to say.

Quote:Hi George,
I have a question. Have you or any of you team released a E120 package with some Great Lakes paint in it? Reason I am asking is, I got a mediafire link from one of out pilots at our virtual airline that is supposed to be and FSX native model that has a bunch of different paints in it, including my Great Lakes paints that claimed to be painted by Martoni as it states in the aircraft.cfg. These textures were originally uploaded only to our website (http://www.virtualfrontier.org), so I am just trying to find out where this package is coming from so either proper credits are given or the package taken down. Much respect for your modelling over the years bud. : )

Now I do not know what is going on or who is re-releasing Steve's work without his consent using our name as credits, hopefully myself and Steve can get to the bottom of this.

For one, we WILL NOT release/re-release anything that does not belong to us unless we get full consent from the original authors....PERIOD!!!!

If this continues, we WILL release our packages ONLY on this website/forum, no exceptions!!!!

Don't kill this hobby or this group by uploading packages using our name, it will tarnish our reputation and another group will cease to exist.

That is all. Thanks.

And as a follow up message sent from Steve:

Quote:Hi George,
After a little further investigation. The guy that sent me the “package” just copied and paste the lines from your cfg to his without changing anything. I called him on it last evening and informed him that he should not be doing this. So all is good with a lesson to a newbie. Keep doing what you do bro, awesome work. : )
