Enstrom Model - MikeC - 11-22-2011 06:15 AM Thank you for the Enstrom model it is great. However your claim that it is the first Enstrom for Flight Simulator is not correct. Joe Hudson released a freeware Enstrom FX280FX for FS2000 back in 1999 and so deserves the credit for that. I did a basic repaint of Joe's original (with his kind permission) back in 2001 of an Americopter F280FX operated out of Guam. The models load in FS2004 but the rotors do not appear however they still fly. I still have the original files if anyone would like a copy just let me know. RE: Enstrom Model - Brandon - 11-22-2011 09:56 AM That's interesting. I did a thorough search of the different flight sim add-on websites that date back to add-on uploads for FS2000 and never found anything. Do you know where it was originally released? RE: Enstrom Model - MikeC - 11-23-2011 05:05 AM Hi Brandon, as far as I remember it was first on Keith's Virtual Helipad which was the best site ever for flight sim helicopter enthusiasts. It was a real blow when it closed down because it had all the latest releases and much greater variety of models than can be found today. You can see a sample archived page at http://web.archive.org/web/20010803092641/http://avsim.com/vhelipad/ I have a lot of the civilian chopper models archived on disk if anyone is looking for a particular file just let me know. RE: Enstrom Model - MikeC - 11-30-2011 06:12 AM Thanks Charles, I didn't know that it could still be found a real blast from the past. |
